Nevada Launch Event on March 22 - Reno and Las Vegas

Join us for an introduction to the Cleantech Open, the world's largest cleantech accelerator. You will learn about our annual Business Competition, an opportunity to accelerate your cleantech startup with expert training, national visibility and up to $250,000 of cash and services. Beyond great networking, the event will include a brief presentation about how you can get involved as a volunteer, mentor, judge or more.

Program

The Launch event for Cleantech Open Nevada will be a simultaneous videoconference from Las Vegas and Reno on March 22nd from 9AM to 11AM at the facilities of the prestigious Desert Research Institute. Invited guests include key members of Nevada’s economic development community, state and local elected officials, representatives from Nevada’s cleantech industry and Nevada System of Higher Education, former Cleantech Open participants from Nevada and members of the local and state press.

The event will also announce a major new partnership between Cleantech Open Nevada and the Nevada Institute for Renewable Energy Commercialization (NIREC). NIREC is a nonprofit public-private partnership that integrates researchers, experienced entrepreneurs, business executives, and financial capital to identify, fund and accelerate the development of renewable energy technologies

The Launch event will also feature the announcement of a partnership in Nevada with First Look West (FLoW). First Look West (FLoW) facilitates student teams throughout the Western U.S. to participate in the Department of Energy’s first ever business plan competition for clean energy.

Key speakers will include Walt Borland, President and CEO of NIREC, Erik Steeb, Western Region Director of Cleantech Open, Chip Evans, Nevada Director of Cleantech Open and Stephanie Yanchinski, Executive Director of FLoW from the California Institute of Technology.

Seating will be limited and RSVPs to invitations will be required. Others wishing to attend can email cevans@cleantechopen.com for availability and reservations.

Who Should Attend

Anyone should attend who is interested in learning more about competing in the Cleantech Open business competition or volunteering, mentoring, judging, partnering with or sponsoring with the organization.
