Cleantech Open Kicks Off 2012 National Competition With Launch Party at NASA Ames Research Center

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—March 16, 2012: On Friday, March 23, the Cleantech Open will officially launch its 2012 Business Competition and Accelerator — the largest cleantech program of its type in the world. Now in its seventh year, the 2012 program is bigger, bolder and even better than ever. Accredited journalists and bloggers are invited to attend as our guests to learn more about what we’re offering this year.

WHAT’S NEW FOR 2012 • This year, the Cleantech Open is operating in 7 regional business competitions, covering 33 states, with more than 100 regional events and 4 national events. This year also marks our expansion abroad. Executive Director Rex Northen will map out the road ahead. • The Cleantech Open has been selected to manage NASA’s Night Rover Challenge, a Centennial Competition focused on spurring revolutionary solar-energy systems to enhance robotic exploration of the Moon.
